These Inka lace earrings are the best letterbox friendly gift! Not only are they light and easy to wear, but they are light and easy to post to your friend or loved one too!
The design came from a challenge to myself in the first week of January 2021. I needed some motivation as the UK entered it’s third lockdown- the news and weather were bleak and I required a kick up the proverbial! So I sat down to create a new motif to prove to myself that I could do it. I pulled an old design out of my tiny archive of Nottingham lace related items and sat down to create a design. You can read the full story behind the design here.
These earrings are made from a small part of the Inka lace design. I remodelled it to make a single motif that would stitch well on my sacrificial backing to make a stand alone lace design. The earrings have a lovely chain of thread rings, allowing the earrings to swing and move with you. But as with all my lace accessories, they are light as a feather! They measure 6cm from the sterling silver hook, and are made right here in my Nottinghamshire studio from 100% plant based thread.
Posting the earrings couldn’t be easier, which is why I call them a letterbox friendly gift! They are presented on a folded card to keep them neat, and placed in a recycled card pouch. The whole thing can be posted using a large letter stamp which means I don’t have to go into the post office, thus saving time and (importantly, at the moment) keeping the JCM family safe. I offer free UK postage. so it won’t cost you an extra bean!
Finally the pictures show red and limey green lace earrings. You can have them in any colour you can imagine so if you want another shade, please let me know by email, social media or carrier pigeon!
