Inspired by a scrap of wallpaper found in DH Lawrence’s birthplace, now a museum, this lace cuff bracelet or ‘lacelet’ is an open lace design in an ‘Art Nouveau’ style. I was commissioned by the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Eastwood to create a new lace collection for their gift shop. It’s known that Lawrence’s mother made lace, possibly selling items to support the family, so it felt like a perfect fit for some of my items. Of course, visitors there are literary types, so my bookmark based on this motif is a popular choice. For variety I worked and reworked the lace until this small jewellery range was born.
There’s a lacelet, earrings and a rounded necklace in the collection. This neck lace is about 30cm deep, ad sits just on the collar bones. It fastens with an S clasp and is made from soft rayon thread. Buy this neck lace as the perfect gift for a lover of literature!
The lacelet is available in the colours pictured, but if you want to order in other colours please contact me. Zoom in on the gallery of colours by clicking the shade chart image. If you don’t see a colour you like, please get in touch!
