Inspired by a scrap of wallpaper found in DH Lawrence’s birthplace, these lace earrings are made from an open lace design in an Art Nouveau style. I was commissioned by the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Eastwood to create a new lace collection for their gift shop. It’s known that Lawrence’s mother made lace, possibly selling items to support the family, so it felt like a perfect fit for some of my items. Of course, visitors there are literary types, so my bookmark based on this motif is a popular choice. For variety I reworked the lace design until this small jewellery range was born.
There’s a lacelet, earrings and a rounded necklace in my DH Lawrence collection. These earrings are fashioned from 100% rayon lace, rolled around a central dangler which is inspired by fuchsia flowers! The hooks are made from sterling silver so have no allergy issues. Postage is FREE within the UK!
Buy these lace earrings as the perfect gift for a lover of literature. They are available in two colours, but if you want to order other another colour please contact me!
