On the first weekend in April 2014, designer-makers from all over the UK will descend on North Yorkshire town of Harrogate to show their work at the British Craft Trade Fair. It’s the third year I have exhibited here and I’m looking forward to seeing customers old and new. I’ll be showing my wearable lace and, for the first time at BCTF, the framed lace pieces that were so well received by the public in the run up to Christmas.
Planning for a trade show is exciting and nerve-wracking, full of questions: How can I display my work, will buyers like my new lace colours, will they place orders? But it’s a great driver and really focusses you on the year ahead. I’m lucky in that I have already done a trade show this year (CRAFT London, part of Top Drawer) AND a showcase at London Fashion Week, So I’m already there with my range and marketing materials. But BCTF is different for me as I’ll have my own booth, so I’ve got complete control over the look of my stand. I’ve got some ideas, but you’ll have to wait and see how it turns out!
I’ll be on stand number 303, with new products and special show offers. Check out my page in the show online catalogue before your visit, I can’t wait to see you there, can you spot me in this photo from last year’s show?
